EVERGREEN FAITH - PART 1
Merry Christmas Day!
It seems like yesterday we were Thanksgiving feasting with family and friends. I do love how we go from one celebration to another. From one special occasion to another.
As the clock strikes midnight in just a few days, we will celebrate a New Year. Full of possibilities, full of potential, full of life! Next thing we know, it will be Valentine’s Day, followed by Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, July 4, etc…
Right now the season for us in the northern hemisphere is winter, but be assured that Spring is coming, as is Summer, and Fall. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. God, in His infinite wisdom designed all four seasons and I believe we can learn many great life lessons from observing these natural seasons, and applying them to our lives.
God gave us seasons for a reason. The word “season” means to “acclimatize”. This tells us that every season is meant to prepare us for the next.
Alicia Britt Chole writes in her book “Anonymous”,
“The Father’s work in us does not sleep – though in spiritual winters he retracts all advertisement. And when He does so, He is purifying our faith, strengthening our character, conserving our energy, and preparing us for the future. The sleepy days of winter hide us so that the seductive days of summer will not ruin us.”
Father God wants us to acclimate, mature, be trained, toughen, strengthen, prepare and qualify. After all, we were born on purpose for His purpose!
Regardless of the season, God wants to produce in us, EVERGREEN FAITH!
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-15, in The Message translation says:
“There's a Right Time for Everything There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:
A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.”
We need wisdom to read the season we are in, so we can effectively live the season we are in. We need to know the importance of maximizing our season, whatever the weather! We need to remember Who is constant so we can live by EVERGREEN FAITH. In good times or tough times. In high lights and low lights. In summer and winter. We can live by EVERGREEN FAITH.
Hebrews 11:1 says,
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Strong's Bible Concordance tells us that the word “FAITH” means:
“FAITH” is always a gift from God, and never something that can be produced by people. FAITH for the believer is "God's divine persuasion" – and therefore distinct from human belief and confidence, yet still involves it. The Lord continuously births FAITH in the yielded believer so they can know what He prefers. For example, the persuasion of His will, over ours. His best, over ours.”
This Christmas let’s remember the reason for the season and allow the Lord to lead and direct our lives.
His will, over ours.
His best, over ours.
